The T-Bird Gazette

Greetings
Everyone!!
Well it looks like all the really hot
days of summer are finally gone, and none too
soon!! With the weather cooling down it
is time to get those Birds cleaned up and on the road!!
It was still very warm on September 17th
when the CCTC and ATO clubs had an informal lunch together at Nutty Brown’s
Restaurant. We had a great time visiting
and enjoying each other’s company. I
guess we had too much fun because when we started to leave it actually started
to rain!! It was not much but welcome
all the same!! On September 24th
the CCTC had a Regional planning meeting at Marie Callendars Restaurant. A few decisions were made and we are just
that much closer to being ready in April!!
October was a busy month. On October 1st Thunderbird clubs
from Austin (CCTC & ATO) and Houston descended on the airport in LaGrange
for our annual Drive in and Fly in. We park our cars and look at all the
vintage and newer aircraft come and go.
We then have a BBQ lunch and just watch the planes and visit. This is a
very relaxing outing!! On October 2nd the Early Ford V8 club had
their All Ford Picnic in Georgetown.

Buddy Cox of the CCTC was there with his 66 Town Hardtop. Quite a few Ford autos were on display. After a sack lunch and a lot of visiting we
headed home. October 15th
brought another CCTC Regional planning at Chillie’s Restaurant off Hwy
620. As before everything is moving
towards the Regional in April. October 4th thru the 9th
found Buddy & Doris Cox of the CCTC traveling to Biloxi, Ms to attend the 15th annual Crusin the Coast
event. They trailered their 66
Thunderbird to the event. This is a
weeklong cruise up and down Hwy 90 between Bay St. Louis, Gulfport, Biloxi and
Ocean Springs, Ms.

As you can see there are cars everywhere!!
To see more go to www.cruisinthecoast.com and click on
the 2011 photo album. There are
some ariel views also!! If you love to see
all kinds of cars and just cruise the Hwy, this is the place for you!! October 22nd Buddy & Doris Cox
entered their 66 in the Gear Heads open car show in Buda. They did not place in
any category but had a great time talking with all the car enthusiasts
there. Larry Herpel of the CCTC joined
them for most of the afternoon. Sunday
October 23nd Buddy & Doris were in San Antonio for the San
Antonio Mustang Club annual charity car show.
They parked with members of the South Texas Thunderbird Club. The judging was very close and their 66
managed to outscore a red 55 convertible for 1st place.

Also on Sunday, CCTC members Guy
Saunders, Bob Roberts and Tom & Christine Cain, attended the Rolling
Sculpture Car Show in Bee Caves. Rick
& Carole Rosa of the ATO brought their 39 Ford. There were about 140 cars at the show
